The Way We Work
Rules for the pipe. Resilience for the human.
1. Service Provisioning
We provide lightweight email identities and routing. Fulfillment is human-in-the-loop: intent → payment → provision. This keeps abuse low and protects deliverability for everyone.
2. Tiers (Plain English)
- Relay Shield: Forward-only identity for privacy/testing and compartmentalization.
- MyPlace Mail: Small mailbox for low-noise use.
- MultiPass MX: Secondary MX spooling to bridge outages, with rolling retention up to 14 days.
3. MultiPass MX Mechanics
Backup MX works on priority (lower number = higher priority). You configure us as a secondary or tertiary MX record. When your primary mail host is unavailable, we accept and spool messages temporarily and attempt redelivery when your host returns.
Typical example: MX 10 primary, MX 20 secondary (us), MX 100 tertiary (optional).
4. Retention (The Icicle Rule)
Data here is transient. Spooled mail and operational artifacts are retained on a rolling basis, typically up to 14 days. After that window, the icicle melts into the river — data is automatically purged.
We are a buffer, not a vault.
5. Acceptable Use
DonkeyWaffle is for legitimate communication and resilience routing.
- No spam, phishing, credential harvesting, malware distribution, or harassment.
- No bulk/marketing blasts or high-volume automation.
- No activity that threatens deliverability for other customers or our domain pool.
We reserve the right to suspend or deny service to protect the ecosystem.
6. Operational Safeguards
- Rate limits and abuse controls may be applied without notice.
- If a domain or route is under investigation, we may temporarily pause fulfillment or delivery for safety.
- During the initial launch, support is best-effort.
